The Coronation Wound & Mike Watt Show!

The Coronation Wound & Mike Watt Show!

WFMU Playlist & Interactive Live Chat. (The Digital Salon)

It’s Two Weeks of “Mike Check, One Two, One Two” on Mid-Valley Mutations. All Part of Our End Of Summer Non-Bummer!

Last week, we were able to treat you to a fabulous show, which culminated in an interview with Mike Baggetta, who – among other things – play guitar with Mike Watt in both mssv and Casa Sueño. This week, we bring you the complementary interview with Mr. Watt himself, his second time on the show, and a continuation of our previous conversations. We plug the HELL out of his tour for his new band, and talk about a number of other interesting and related topics.

But before we get into that: We have two “in-studio” guests this week, Valerie S. and Obadiah Baird, both of the band Coronation Wound, and both of whom perform music on their own, too. Coronation Wound is playing a show with The King Dot THIS FRIDAY, and you don’t want to miss our second show. We talk a little about that band, and a lot about that show, so you don’t want to miss that, if you live in the area.

Additionally, Valerie and I perform in a band together – Tech Death – and all three of us are opening for Casa Sueño, when they play here in the Mid-Valley, later this month. Obadiah and I have opened for Watt before, but this will be in different arrangements, and certainly, there’s a first time for everything.

To give us a taste of what Desperate Strangers will be bringing to the show at Blast Off, Obadiah even plays a couple songs that he’s been working on. It’s a very low-key hangout sort of episode, where we just get really nerdy about music, and you can hear it all.

Thanks again for listening!
