MUTATION FEST 2023

Thanks to Sheena’s Jungle Room and WFMU, we were able to host our very first fest this year, over seven weeks of radio! Here’s your one-stop-shopping for everything Mutation Fest! 1

Next, you’ll want to fire up the Video Playlist, and catch up with all the live videos that go with the FEST. Most of it was audio only, and for the live radio broadcast. But, there was video of much of the show – including all of Day 3 – so check it out.

Mid-Valley Mutations: “MUTATION FEST! (Week 1)” (11 April 2023) on Sheena’s Jungle Room and WFMU. Our very first live musical event, where a number of performers and friends of the show produce live music, interviews and soundart, to offer six days of fun. On Day One, enjoy music by Arvo Zylo, Billy Yfantis, Obadiah Baird, Col du Void, The Eugene Difficult Music Ensemble, Scot Jenerik and The Shape of Minds to Come. There’s more to come, so join us next week! 

Mid-Valley Mutations: “MUTATION FEST! (Week 2)” (18 April 2023) on Sheena’s Jungle Room and WFMU. Day Two! Enjoy music by Arvo Zylo, Le Petit Sac, Four Dimensional Nightmare, IVO SALIENTIA, and The Dead Air Fresheners! Then, stick around, for an interview with the Dead Air Fresheners, too! 

Mid-Valley Mutations: “MUTATION FEST! (Week 3)” (25 April 2023) on Sheena’s Jungle Room and WFMU. Day Three! Enjoy music VIDEOS by The Eleven-SixtyFours, Mini-Mutations, Shot Reverse Shot, The Olsen Twins Ghostlight Ensemble, Formaldehydra, “Cloud Chamber,” Phog Masheeen, CraigCo Aural Gratification Ensemble, Don Haugen, Cornelius F. Then, you should stick around, as we offer another interview, this time with r33k, to discuss creative practices. A banger to be sure!

Mid-Valley Mutations: “MUTATION FEST! (Week 5)” (9 May 2023) on Sheena’s Jungle Room and WFMU. Day Five! Enjoy music by Arvo Zylo, the debut of a split single by Marti Grissom & Evelyn, a live performance by Xeres of Xeron, a radio play by The Fourth Sunday Players, and an interview with Frankie of The Promethean Skool ’zines!
