Fumblin’ With The Blues (Part 2)
WFMU Playlist & Interactive Live Chat
We continue our exploration of Blues music, in a variety of forms and styles, genres, and from different periods, in an effort to soak in the wisdom that others have already gleaned from this kind of music. We move through time and through our record collection, dipping into different ways that the Blues has taken form, some obvious, some surprising.
As a sub-theme, we offer a preview of next week’s show, and a small promotion for their shows this weekend, as we play a few “blues” tunes by Point Line Plane, a band that has rebooted recently, and is playing a show in Eugene this Friday, and in Salem this Saturday. It’s exciting to see them back in action, and it was a lot of fun to revisit their music.
We close the show this week with An Afterparty, where we offer a live performance from the archives, with Blue Light Curtain, who were on the show almost 20 years ago. While the recording is old, the performance still feels heartfelt, intense, and beautiful, all these years later.
