William Holley, LIVE! (Live Friday 057)
Drawing influences from the usual host of singer / songwriters that people the world of indie rock, William Holley combines focused musical structures and personal story telling to create beautiful textures that will appeal not just to the sensitive guy in the back of the coffee shop reading Kafka, but to the boisterous girls in the front jumping up and down with Pabst tallboys in their hands. While comparisons to others in the same line of work could be made, it detracts from the earnest vocal stylings and the simple fact that he’s putting himself out in an effort to connect with the world around him, and that alone makes his songwriting not only heartfelt, but very, very enjoyable. Today, William will be joined by Harpist Emily Grau Silver, marking the first ever Harp on KPSU.
